Jumping into the show and community?
Here’s how to get started for maximum benefit, per the Fuckers who’ve come before.

1. Get your private RSS code

Look, you can browse posts on Patreon if you want… but that fucker gets buggy sometimes.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Get your private RSS code to put all your subscription episodes in one place. They’ll auto-populate every time a new show is published. So you don’t have to dig through Patreon.

Here’s how it works:

  • Login to your Patreon account after subscribing
  • Go to the Membership Benefits tab
  • Scroll down to the Private RSS Code
  • Copy this code
  • Choose your favorite podcast streaming app, such as Apple or Google Podcasts (Note: Spotify does not support this function)
  • Google “how to add custom RSS feed to [your chosen podcast streaming app]”
  • Follow the app’s instructions to open the custom RSS feed page
  • Paste the code you copied from Patreon

That’s it! You’re ready to listen to the TMFR Private Podcast Stream just like you would listen to any other show! New episodes will arrive here every week as they’re published.

2. How to approach the enormous backlog of podcast eps

***HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Start at the beginning of the private podcast stream.***

Look. To say “we’ve covered a lot, learned a lot, and changed a lot” is apt.

Over 4 years of TMFing the conversation has developed and broadened enormously from a beginner understanding of CPTSD to more advanced fine-tunings of those trauma programs. The information builds, the topics become more specific, and you can get lost if you try to jump into modern day shows without the background education. Especially as it relates to the scientific info.

Start with the early episodes and learn WITH us, the way that the information naturally unfolded, so you don’t miss a foundational detail as the shows progress.

Get your private RSS code, plug it in (see prior drop down), prepare yourself for a journey, and start streaming from the beginning to get the full story.

It’s proven to be the most effective approach.

**Less recommended: Check the other browsing options to learn topically.**

You can also seek shows through the navigation available on this site & Patreon.

  • Check the most highly rated shows. They’re marked with asterisks in your Podcast Stream or browsable by post on this site.
  • Search by topic. Log into Patreon and use the search bar to seek the information you’re craving. “Spot educate” yourself with past episodes to get acquainted with back-info needed for re-emerging topics. i.e. “relationships” or “parts.”
  • Listen by Series. Sometimes my brain writes in interconnected chapters, not individual entries. Use this site to check the “Series” of episodes that have been recorded on targeted, interrelated, topics.
  • Listen by Season. Each season has a vibe or general focus that corresponds to my real life t-revelations and challenges. The early days were more personal – with time the research increasingly intensifies and includes more community entries. So what’re YOU looking for? Check the Posts by Season page for more info.
3. Get into the Discord Community
3a. First, you need to get your Discord invite.

Use on PC or download the mobile app for Patreon and Discord.

If you’re subscribed to a tier that includes Discord access, just go to your “Membership Benefits” tab in Patreon. You’ll find your private invite listed here. Click it, and connect your account to Discord.

Note: in order to link Patreon and Discord, you have to sign up for a Discord account if you don’t already have one. Just google “sign up for discord” if you’re lost.

If you have any problems at this point, go ahead and search “Patreon FAQs connect to discord” to get the IT professional walkthrough. They are better at this than I.

3b. Get oriented, introduce yourself to the crew, and check the server map.

Hit up the Welcome channel to get the rules of the community under your belt.

Then head to the Introductions channel to share a bit about yourself. Immediately find people who share the same struggles and life patterns, so you can start forming connections.

From there, take a look at the Server Map to get oriented in the community. There are a lot of channels and ways to engage – find what’s best for your brain.

3c. Customize your experience on Discord.

Hey, you don’t have to get pinged for every chat channel if that’s overwhelming.

Right click any channel to mute it, and stay tuned into only the areas that best fit your brain.

3d. Reach out to Server Staff in case of mishap, confusion, harassment, or other emergency.

These are the masters of the Discord server, and they are a well of knowledge. Just @serverstaff if you need help.

Please recognize these are volunteer MFs with their own recoveries underway. They’re pillars of the community with a deep interest in helping others. So treat them with kindness, respect, and patience. They don’t work for you or me.

3e. That’s it! Get communing on Discord.

If you’re in a “limited access tier,” just change your subscription when you’re ready for additional channels.

And please note: if you’re being a reactive threat to the recovery of the community, you will be removed after one attempt at mediation. No exceptions. We’re all here to heal, not suffer additional relational trauma / bullying.

4. Get more involved

There are many ways to engage! Take “casual listening” to a more impactful level with additional modes of info interactions.

Check the other community engagement options besides Discord. Go ahead and hop over to the “Ways to Engage” page for the rundown of ways. Forums, polls, and mailbag details can be found here.

Don’t miss the posts as they come out on Patreon. Watch your email and app. Stay on the same page as the rest of the community. Spark conversation in the episodes’ comments sections. Reach out to the community members who submit their own episodes. Answer topical polls and discuss your answer in the comments section below.

Keep up with the Public Podcast stream. It collects useful “summaries” of the topics we’re discussing in detail on the Private show and other bite-sized offerings. Get short form reiterations of what you’ve been learning to really seal in the knowledge.

Don’t forget the Instagram feed. It’s not an advertising handle. This bitch is full of meme-ified lessons and advice. Read the post captions; a lot of thought goes into each. Comment at and follow other MFs to take your connection to the next level.

Subscribe, review, and share the public show. Engage folks in your real life with the CPTSD knowledge THEY need – to understand themself and/or your brain. Bump the shows stats while you’re at it; this project runs exclusively on organic growth and word of mouth.

5. Check the other resources

More of a “visual guy”? (nongendered) Extra resources are available as you move up the ladder of CPTSD understanding / devotion to rewiring.

Videos, transcripts, workbooks with reflection prompts, bonus episodes, and exercises are all dropping monthly at the “Git Changing” tier and above. Get the full applications, personal reflections, and increasingly nuanced trauma discovering details, along with my doods.

Check the Patreon page to see what extra posts are available at alternative tier subscription levels and decide if you’re feeling recovery-nerdy enough to jump the shark…. and really make a dent in the monthly expenses of running this project while you’re at it.

6. Take note and relisten to key eps

I’d be pants ablazin if I told you “you will get all the details, reflect completely, and apply them to your own life in one pass.”

Some shows are DENSE with details. Some may cause you to disassociate into “holy shit, that’s me” territory. Others can change your brain if you give them a dedicated reflection, line by line. And sometimes a show becomes more relevant down the line, as you unearth a new t-artifact or encounter a new struggle.

Mark shows that deserve a repeat listen and absorb them fully when you’ve got excess attention / new battles to fight. Hit up the transcript to read along. Take notes and make journal entries reflecting on what you’ve heard. Bring the episodes to therapy, so a professional can help you tackle the topic.

There are many ways to deepen your comprehension and application of the episodes

I’m told this is crucial, per the most “changed” MFs in the community.
